Brief History of Printed T Shirts

The shirt is a very versatile piece of clothing. T-shirts were on the scene since late 1800. They were often used by the mining industry because they were more comfortable to wear in a hot environment. These original costumes were available with and without buttons. T-shirts officially got its name in the 1920s. During this time the word T-shirt 'was added to the Merriam-Webster. In 1939, these shirts were made in the U.S. sub-standard military clothing and were made without buttons.
